Device and Cloud modes
The mobile app works two ways: completely private on your phone, or connected to a cloud account with synchronization and sharing. Both include full expiration tracking — this page compares them in detail.
Same tracking, different home for your data
Both modes offer expirations, categories, a calendar, an archive, workspaces, reminders, and change history. The difference is where the data lives, whether it syncs, and whether you can collaborate. You choose a mode when you start the app and can move your data between modes later.

Which mode fits you
Choose Device when privacy comes first
No account, no server, no synchronization — everything stays on your phone, including free attachments and native reminders. Ideal for personal documents you want to keep entirely to yourself.
Choose Cloud when you work across devices or with others
An account connects the mobile and web apps and keeps data current everywhere. Pro and Family enable sharing; push reminders, calendar feeds, the API, and webhooks remain available on every cloud plan.
Switching between modes
You are never locked in. Local workspaces, categories, items, and attachments can be moved from Device mode to a cloud account, and cloud data can be downloaded back into Device mode. Reminders are recalculated for the new home automatically.
